The option or hire purchase is an alternative to traditional financing - but more expensive.
New model: Rent and buy
New is the model of Gecci: Rent and buy®©. The offer, which was protected by trademark law and audited by an independent auditing and tax consulting firm, is a massive building with KfW standard. Prices start at 199,000 euros, the monthly rent is for a rental period of 23 years, for example, 1100 euros. The house can be rented for a maximum of 32 years. After the end of the rental period, the property will be overwritten by the customer. A down payment or a final installment does not apply.
"That's the difference to all other hire-purchase offers," assures Gecci CEO Gerald Evans. In 2019 he wants to finish a dozen houses and sell them in the rent-and-buy model. His target group are families and smaller businesses "who want to buy a property but do not get credit from their bank," he explains. Peter Stollbert, architect from Schramberg in Baden-Wuerttemberg, who is responsible for the approval planning in southern Germany, finds this way to home financing "interesting and fair", the interest in it in the target group especially in the region around the Gecci headquarters near Hildesheim is big: "The buyers protect their liquidity and make themselves independent of interest rate and rental price developments."
